History |
The Close is a group of houses in Nailsea, North Somerset that was designed by the Architect Robert Maclaren Love for landowner and stonemason H. W. Pippett in 1933. Evident in the design is the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement characterised by vernacular work by architects such as Edwin Lutyens and influenced by Hampstead Garden Suburb. The Close in Nailsea is Robert Love's only attributed housing work in the UK and a unique heritage assett. |
